SEG Solar Highlights HJT Innovation and U.S. Manufacturing Strategy at 2026 PV ModuleTech Conference USA
Napa, California – June 16-17, 2026 – The 2026 PV ModuleTech Conference USA successfully concluded, bringing together industry leaders and experts to discuss global PV module technology development, supply chain security, and industry innovation trends. SEG Solar (“SEG”), a leading U.S. solar module manufacturer, was invited to attend the conference. Chief Executive Officer Jim Wood and R&D Center Lead Shehroz Razzaq each delivered keynote speeches, sharing insights into the development of the global solar industry and technology innovation, with a focus on SEG’s strategic roadmap for HJT technology.

“In an increasingly competitive global solar market, corporate competitiveness is no longer defined only by products and pricing. It also depends on supply chain stability, manufacturing capability, and value chain coordination,” said Jim Wood, CEO of SEG Solar. “Driven by our local manufacturing and vertical integration strategy, SEG continues to make progress in its U.S. manufacturing footprint. Construction of SEG’s second module factory in Greater Houston, Texas, has entered its final stage, with commercial production planned for the third quarter of this year. At the same time, SEG is accelerating the development of its third U.S. 4.6 GW HJT module factory and has begun site selection for a U.S. solar cell facility, further strengthening its domestic value chain.”

On the technology innovation front, Shehroz Razzaq, R&D Center Lead at SEG Solar, highlighted the development trends and commercialization outlook of high-efficiency HJT technology. “SEG has identified HJT as a core direction for its next stage of technology innovation and product upgrades,” Razzaq said. “With bifaciality of up to 90%±5% and a temperature coefficient as low as -0.24%/°C, HJT technology demonstrates strong advantages in conversion efficiency, power generation gains, and long-term reliability. SEG is also focusing on key technology innovations such as reducing silver consumption and lowering UVID, or ultraviolet-induced degradation. These efforts will continue to enhance the performance and long-term reliability of SEG’s HJT products, while reinforcing SEG’s commitment to technology innovation and quality excellence.”
As the global energy transition continues to advance, SEG will continue to align advanced technologies with market demand, delivering more competitive products and solutions to support the evolving needs of the global energy market.
